Today, there is interesting news from the Pokrovsk direction.
Here, the Ukrainians are continuing to take back key positions around Pokrovsk, destroying Russian forces without mercy. Determined not to let the enemy near the town, the Ukrainians even resorted to an extraordinary solution, as soldiers used beehives as a weapon to clear a Russian hideout after running out of grenades.

Securing Pischane is essential for Ukraine’s defensive efforts around Pokrovsk. If the Ukrainians manage to fully consolidate their control over the settlement, it will significantly strengthen their defensive perimeter, making it much harder for Russian forces to advance toward Pokrovsk through the network of smaller settlements.

Additionally, holding Pischane would provide Ukrainian forces with a launching point for future offensives against Shevchenko and Novotroitske, similar to their recent successful operations in the region.

To achieve their objective, Ukrainian forces have implemented a two-phase approach. First, they are maintaining a strong all-round defense of their already secured positions in Pischane. Second, they are working to consolidate their control, gradually eliminating Russians attempting to infiltrate the settlement and fortifying their presence to ensure long-term stability.

Ukraine’s defenders hold several key tactical advantages in Pischane. If we look at the topographic map, we can see that they are situated on higher ground with strong trench fortifications behind them, allowing them effective fire control. At the same time, the village is in the lowlands, which creates a natural fire pocket for any Russian forces attempting to move in, making them immediately vulnerable. Additionally, previously dug anti-tank ditches block Russian armored vehicles from advancing from the south. While these ditches are now in Russian-controlled territory, they are still unable to be filled due to the constant threat of Ukrainian drone attacks, which ensure that any exposed Russian engineering efforts are quickly neutralized.

Ukrainian forces still face a challenge as Russian troops maintain control over Shevchenko, which is positioned on the high ground. From there, the Russians send continuous waves of small infantry groups through interconnected tree lines, allowing them to reach the industrial zone of Pischane. This persistent infiltration creates a constant problem for the Ukrainians, forcing them to remain on high alert.

Despite this, the Ukrainian defenders have managed to neutralize most Russian assaults with remarkable efficiency, as they often consisted of small groups, proving easy to repel due to Ukraine’s precise use of drones. Ukrainian drone operators, some launching over 50 drones per day, have completely dominated the battlefield. Russian analysts have even acknowledged Ukraine’s overwhelming drone superiority in the region, noting that it is turning the tide against their attempted advances.

As the primary Russian goal has been to establish a foothold in the industrial zone, every such attempt has been met with devastating Ukrainian countermeasures. Recently, Russian troops tried to set up positions at a mine site, but Ukrainian FPV drones and Vampire strike hexacopters inflicted heavy casualties, effectively wiping out the assault force.

With some Russians making it inside, Ukrainian assault troopers engaged in close-quarters clearing operations, eliminating two Russian soldiers trying to enter a building. Such close-range battles continue, with Ukrainian infantry and drone units working in close coordination to prevent Russian forces from gaining any ground.

During one clearing operation, Ukrainian troops came across a basement where Russian soldiers had taken cover. As they had cleared several Russian positions before this, they were all out of grenades, so the Ukrainians had to improvise. Rather than waste time on a prolonged standoff, they turned to an unexpected solution: beehives.

They threw two whole hives into the basement, and the results were immediate. The Russian soldiers, unwilling or unable to endure the swarm of angry bees, never made it out of the basement. This unconventional tactic neutralized the enemy and highlighted the Ukrainian soldiers’ adaptability and ingenuity in combat.

Overall, the ongoing Ukrainian operations in Pischane have effectively helped to stall Russian offensives in the area. Position by position, Ukrainian forces are reclaiming lost ground and systematically clearing out Russian troops. The tide has shifted, and Ukrainians are no longer just defending—they are actively pushing back. With each successful operation, Ukraine further solidifies its hold over Pischane, ensuring that Pokrovsk remains well-defended and setting the stage for future advances.
