In the Kursk direction, Ukrainian forcesexecuted a strategic withdrawal to higher ground, allowing Russian forces toadvance into a trap. Using mines, drones, and precise counterattacks, theydestroyed the Russian spearhead and encircled remaining troops in capturedsettlements. Attempts by Russian reinforcements to break the encirclementfailed, resulting in massive losses, including 18 of 29 armored vehicles in oneday. Ukrainian mechanized units, supported by heavily modified Bradleys,cleared threats to their western flank and reestablished control over thesettlements. This expertly coordinated maneuver inflicted over 300 Russiancasualties and secured Ukrainian tactical superiority in the area.
