Comprehensive Battlefront Breakdown: A Strategic Look at Every Front

Today, we will discuss the latest developments along the entire front line, focusing on the most important from Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, and Velyka Novosilka.

Starting with the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian forces have successfully stalled the Russian offensive by retaking key positions, predominantly south and southwest of the city. Exploiting the massive losses of the Russians of around 15,000 dead and wounded in January alone, the benefits of the terrain, and their better logistics, Ukrainians conducted several daring raids against positions that the Russians had recently captured but never managed to fully consolidate. Success in Kotlyne, Pischane, and Dachenske was especially possible because of the sublime coordination between Ukrainian drone operators and ground assault teams. 

However, reports indicate that the Russians may be accumulating a large grouping of forces near Selydove in preparation for more concentrated mechanized assaults on the western flank to break the stalemate, likely aiming to capture key crossing points and establish more secure ground lines of communication for future operations in this sector. 

In summary, the Russians have failed to continue their offensive in the Pokrovsk direction and even lost some territory due to the relentless Ukrainian counterattacks. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently stated that the situation in the Pokrovsk direction has significantly improved in recent weeks and that the Ukrainian defenders here are now much more confident in their position. 

While Russians might be preparing for a large, mechanized assault, these reports remain unconfirmed, with constant clashes expected to continue with small Russian infantry groups probing for weak spots, a tactic that has cost Russians dearly so far in the Pokrovsk direction. 

Switching to Kurakhove, the situation has deteriorated significantly. Russians have recently launched a massive mechanized assault from multiple attack vectors, aiming to overwhelm the defenses in the settlements west of Kurakhove and create pockets to close the frontline from the south. 

The latest information indicates that Russians have taken complete control of Dachne and have at least partially captured Ulakly, with the rest of the settlement being in the grey zone. Russians are now trying to consolidate a small foothold they gained in Kostiantynopil; however, Ukrainians still have robust control over most of the settlement, as reports indicate that reinforcements have recently arrived and are actively pushing the Russians out of the settlement. 

While the fighting is still intense and ongoing, preliminary footage reveals that Russians used up to 50 armored vehicles in their combined assaults and that, despite making significant territorial gains, the Russian assault groups took significant casualties in their attempts. 

In summary, the sudden massive battles unleashed at Kurakhove suggest that the Russian command is rushing to shorten the frontline here and free up forces for redeployments to either Pokrovsk or Toretsk, as both directions are in dire need of fresh reserves. 

In the direction of Velyka Novosilka, the Russians have launched several massive mechanized assaults to support their offensive operations around Kurakhove with the primary goal of covering for the rotation of Russian soldiers to Toretsk and east of Pokrovsk. The goal was to not allow the Ukrainians to take advantage of appearing gaps in the line or the temporary disorganization of the Russian forces during this time period, denying them the opportunity to win back territory as the Ukrainians did at Pokrovsk.

Despite the Russians using columns of armored vehicles to push for a breakthrough under cover of the bad weather, the Ukrainians remained vigilant, conducting non-stop drone reconnaissance and fire control over enemy logistics routes. With Russians taking many losses in the initial assaults and even more during Ukrainian strikes on their supply lines, many of these Russian soldiers are currently pulling back their gained positions on foot, as armored vehicles do not dare to come pick them up and risk getting destroyed. 

In summary, the Ukrainians continue effectively attritting Russian forces in this direction, simultaneously managing the intensity of the battlefield, while keeping an eye on redeployments of forces from here to other key areas of the frontline, which can present an opportunity for new counterattacks.

Overall, in Pokrovsk, the Russians have reached the culmination point of their offensive after facing massive losses against the strong Ukrainian defense belt around the city. While recent intelligence reports show that Russians might be preparing for a decisive breakthrough here, general redeployments to other directions indicate that Russians might have lost their illusion of quickly taking Pokrovsk. 

Meanwhile, at Kurakhove Ukrainian defenses are being pushed to the limit, with Russians managing to gain ground west of Kurakhove, although at a high cost in manpower and equipment. 

At Velyka Novosilka, Ukrainians continue to repel the Russian assaults north of the settlement, using their drone capabilities and the advantage of the terrain in the area to drain the Russians of their reserves.
