Today, we will discuss the most interesting developments along the entire front line, focusing on Kursk, Pokrovsk, and Kurakhove.

Starting with the Kursk sector, the situation is rapidly deteriorating as Russian forces intensify their assaults across the whole front, with a particular focus on the northern portion of the Ukrainian-controlled salient. Most of these attacks consist of small-scale infantry assaults, often accompanied by a limited number of armored vehicles and ATVs. Through this, Russians are trying to stretch Ukrainian defenses thin, preventing them from concentrating their firepower and drone operations in any single direction. While Russians have taken control of several important territories, the core of the Ukrainian defenses remains intact, with control over the Malaya Loknya defense line holding strong against the main Russian assaults from the west and north.

Simultaneously, the Russians are continuing to disrupt Ukrainian logistics by targeting the road between Sudzha and Sumy with fiber-optic FPV drones and missile strikes. In addition, several key bridges north of Sudzha have been blown up in recent days with contradicting information available if this was done by the Ukrainians as a pre-emptive step towards withdrawal, or by the Russians to cause additional havoc and split up Ukrainian forces.

In summary, despite the massive Russian counterattacks in the last week, the Ukrainians are busy destroying as many Russians as possible, inflicting extraordinarily high losses of hundreds dead and wounded per day. Russians are trying to compensate for these losses and support their offensive efforts by continuing to bring in wounded personnel from other directions from eastern Ukraine. Ukrainians recently identified and destroyed a major Russian command post in the area, disrupting Russian command and control structures, as they are working around the clock to not let themselves be overwhelmed and are doing everything they can to disrupt the massive Russian assaults.

Switching to Pokrovsk, the situation continues to improve in Ukraine’s favor, with Russians losing more tactically important positions to the Ukrainian counterattacks in the past week. Ukrainians have successfully targeted numerous Russian weak points, especially around Kotlyne and Udachne, exploiting their logistics issues and shortage of manpower and armored vehicles. The extent of the crisis in the Russian rear even led to Russians using cavalry to resupply positions and transporting soldiers to the frontline.

It is important to note that the original goal of the Ukrainian incursion into Kursk was aimed at diverting massive resources away from the Russian offensive in the east. With the Ukrainians still in Kursk mounting a successful defense for over six months now, we are witnessing how their plan continues to work effectively. Russian attention there is drawing away critically needed reserves from other directions, for example now at Pokrovsk, where the Russian army struggles not only to move forward but is more and more exposed to localized Ukrainian counterattacks all over the region.

In summary, the situation in Pokrovsk continues to improve for the Ukrainians, as they are taking over more important positions, successfully preventing further Russian advances and even pushing the enemy away from achieving its goals in the region – to outflank or storm the town of Pokrovsk.

In the direction of Kurakhove, even though the bigger Russian advances have nearly stalled, the Russians maintain significant pressure on the Ukrainian defense lines in the region. The presence of a well-functioning Ukrainian officer corps here stabilized the situation after moving reinforcements which helped to hold on to Kostiantynopil.

At the same time, the Russians have tried to exploit the frozen ground and have deployed larger groups of armored vehicles in an attempt to expand their foothold by launching several waves of mechanized assaults. Due to the vigilant Ukrainian defense and the work of their drone operators, all these waves have been destroyed, and the Russians are now forced to reorganize after being scattered by devastating losses.

To sabotage this process and prevent the Russians from getting ready to launch new assaults, the Ukrainians are actively disrupting this reorganization by striking enemy force concentrations in the rear. These strikes are giving the Ukrainians more time to prepare their defense positions, stabilize the current frontline situation, and bring in more reinforcements.

Overall, in Kursk, the Russians have managed to launch multiple attacks along the entire salient and continued to target Ukrainian supply routes but at the devastating cost of hundreds of dead soldiers each day.

Meanwhile, at Pokrovsk, Ukrainian forces exploited more Russian weak spots, retaking important positions and managing to completely stop the Russian attempt to outflank the town as the tide is turning in the overarching battle.

At Kurakhove, the Russians have depleted their forces after several unsuccessful attempts to break through, and are now going through a slow and painful reorganization process, which Ukrainians are utilizing to deal even more damage to the deteriorating Russian forces.
