Russia’s latest attempt to outflank Pokrovsk with a large-scale mechanized assault has resulted in devastating losses. Seeking to bypass urban combat, Russian forces pushed east, only to be met with precise Ukrainian drone and artillery strikes that halted their advance. Despite logistical improvements, poor terrain, strong defenses, and elite Ukrainian drone units ensured another costly failure. If these tactics continue, Russia risks turning Pokrovsk into yet another battlefield disaster.
