North Korean troops, misused as expendable assault waves, suffered catastrophic losses in Kursk due to poor coordination, a language barrier, and outdated tactics. Despite individual discipline and superior weapons, their lack of modern warfare experience and Russian support led to nearly 40% casualties.
Ukrainian special forces exploited these weaknesses, breaching Russian-held positions and flanking North Korean units, forcing a full withdrawal. To recover, North Korea is sending artillery, armored vehicles, and 11,000 reinforcements by April, but heavy losses will delay any renewed offensive for months.
