Today, we will discuss the most interesting developments along the front line, focusing on Kursk-Sumy, Toretsk, Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, and Velyka Novosilka.

In the Kursk-Sumy sector, Russian forces continue reinforcing the front with mass infantry deployments, capitalizing on earlier gains. After seizing several settlements, they are now concentrating troops in the area and attempting to push toward Khotin.

These efforts place Russian units within 20 kilometers of Sumy, bringing the city within striking range of fiber-optic-guided FPV drones once the necessary crews are in place. The Russian aim appears less focused on storming the regional capital, and more on establishing positions from which they can terrorize it continuously with drone strikes.

Ukrainian artillery and drone units are trying to prevent this by localizing and targeting Russian units to deny them the possibility of establishing positions to launch drones from.

Simultaneously, intense fighting is unfolding along the line near Yunakivka. Russian troops are trying to entrench themselves on the outskirts of several settlements, with clashes already recorded near this settlement and several others. Particular concern surrounds the area east of Yunakivka, where Russian infantry is pushing eastward toward this forested terrain. If they secure this area, clearing it would prove difficult. As heavy equipment remains scarce, waves of infantry and soldiers on motorcycles, supported by drones, are driving the Russian advance.

Moving to the Toretsk sector, Russian forces have achieved a limited breakthrough northeast of the city, advancing along the local railroad embankment toward two villages named Dylivka. Simultaneous offensives in both locations are underway, with intense fighting reported as Ukrainian defenders attempt to prevent Russian consolidation.

Should Russian troops establish a foothold in these villages, Ukrainian positions northeast of Toretsk may face the risk of encirclement. Moreover, sustained enemy pressure in this area could compromise critical Ukrainian supply routes, potentially forcing a withdrawal. This development marks a renewed Russian effort aimed at destabilizing the broader Toretsk defensive line.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, Russian forces are intensifying efforts to advance from the south, having captured several smaller settlements, aligning the frontline. Their focus has shifted northwest, targeting settlements like Stepanivka and Yablunivka, with intense close combat reported. Russia aims to outflank Yablunivka and secure Stepanivka, enabling direct assaults on Kostiantynivka.

While continuous bombardment of the town has been going on for months, infantry attacks would bolster Russia’s position, threatening Ukraine’s defensive posture in the broader area. In response, Ukrainian marines are conducting counterattacks and clearing operations to undermine the Russian efforts to maintain control of the critical area south of Kostiantynivka.

Switching to the southern Pokrovsk sector, Russian forces are still roughly 2 kilometers away from the border with the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, and maintain relentless pressure toward Novopavlivka, engaging Ukrainian defenses daily. Heavy fighting persists as Ukrainian forces counter them with precise drone and artillery strikes, inflicting significant losses on Russian units. Russians have concentrated one brigade and two regiments in this small area alone, bolstered by additional fresh reinforcements.

Deceitful announcements, possibly Russian-orchestrated, already falsely claimed Russian entry into Dnipropetrovsk territory, which were amplified by social media and some media outlets. However, in reality, Russians are facing fierce resistance, sacrificing many men for a propaganda victory alone, as the Ukrainian command continues to reinforce the sector with additional drone and infantry units to stabilize the frontline and safeguard Pokrovsk from a larger uppercut maneuver.

Turning to the Velyka Novosilka direction, Russian forces are pressing toward Fedorivka and Komar, having found a weak point on the east bank of the river. Intense shelling is devastating Fedorivka, where Russian infantry, outnumbering Ukrainian defenders, have reached a northern farm, though their full presence remains unclear amid chaotic fighting. In Komar, Russian troops have infiltrated multiple points, but Ukrainian forces are countering more effectively, holding them back. Securing these villages would strengthen Russia’s position, threatening another axis of advance towards the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, while supporting the Russian strategic objective of capturing the whole Donetsk Oblast by pressuring Ukrainian defenses from the south.

Overall, at Sumy and Kursk, Russian forces continue to try to overflood the Ukrainians with a large number of infantry assaults, trying to get into FPV drone strike distance to the city of Sumy with over a quarter million residents pre-war.

Meanwhile, northeast of Toretsk, the Russians are attempting a breakthrough along the railroad to outflank the stalemate in the town from the north.

Near Kostiantynivka, Russian advances from the south persist but are met by deadly Ukrainian fire from elite marine brigades.

South of Pokrovsk, Ukrainian defenses have denied further Russian advances and have kept the enemy out of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, denying them an informational victory.

North of Velyka Novosilka, the Ukrainians are engaged in close combat with Russian assault groups aiming to push forward, after Russians found a weak spot in the Ukrainian line.
