About the Role:
RFU News is looking for skilled and motivated freelance reporters to produce in-depth articles and reports on war and geopolitical developments, primarily in Europe, but also covering key regions in the Middle East, Africa, and other areas of strategic interest. This is a remote freelance role with a flexible schedule, suitable for full-time or part-time work.
Responsibilities:
• Research and monitor international news and military developments.
• Analyze and report on events with clarity and depth.
• Create supporting materials for visual storytelling (e.g., sources, images, maps).
Requirements:
• Advanced understanding of military affairs and global politics.
• Strong command of English (written and analytical).
• Proficient in verifying information across open sources and social media.
• Experience or familiarity with OSINT (Open Source Intelligence).
• Excellent fact-checking and analytical thinking skills.
• Ability to write quickly and adapt your style when needed.
Working Conditions:
• Freelance.
• Remote work from anywhere in the world.

• Option to work full-time (4–5 days/week) or part-time (3 days/week).
• Each report includes:
o Script: ≈700 words of text
o Storyboard: supporting materials for visualization of the script (e.g., sources, images, maps).
